Skeleton Dave

Got a basic AI setup which follows you around and can jump.

The AI now patrols till you get in range and then starts to follow you, it can also navigate when you are above it to come to you.

AI deals damage which is visible to the player. Timing of attack and damage can be easily changes.

High Concept

 Gothic pixel art metroidvania where you swap body parts of monsters with your own to get stronger

Plot

Play as Dave, a skeleton who is sent to the dangerous dungeon named Albaz by his master Visigius, one of the greatest necromancers to have ever lived. Dave is sent to retrieve “The Yogurtnomicon”, an item of great importance which is used to resurrect dead bacteria.

 

Play through a 2D platformer in the form of a dungeon crawling RPG where you swap the body parts of enemies with your own to get stronger. Defeat countless foes in live action-packed combat by utilizing your abilities to strengthen your attacks, so that your master can use the resurrected bacteria to make a delicious ice cream sundae.

The AI is better at pathfinding to you. Also the jumping and landing of it is a lot smoother.

Characters for level 1 are ready. Idk how the artist made them so fast but still look so giid.

The Beginning Of Greatness

Skeleton Dave is a game that I had been planning to make with my friends for over half a year. It had initially started off as an idea for a game jam, but we could not make the game as the time of 2 weeks was too little and everyone was busy with their classes.

After high school ended, we all decided to get back to work on the game and try to make something that we can brag about to everyone. On Wednesday July 14 we had a meeting which we used to delegate work to everyone. I had been given the task to code the AI for the game. Currently I have a very basic enemy ready which will guard a point until the player approached it. I have decided to rework my idea as it was not very effective and left much to be desired. Now I am trying to make an even better AI script which will represent the growth that I have achieved as a coder.

I want to make an AI that is challenging to the players, but is a challenge that makes you want to improve and do better against it the next time you fight. I will try to make the final boss of Skeleton Dave be something that is memorable to everyone who plays the game.
